Herman Cain: “A leader doesn’t have to know everything”
By · CommentsThe media seems to think a comment like this would show that candidates incompetents for not being able to answer certain questions…. i.e., in this case, his foreign policy. ALLAHPUNDIT on HotAir.com seems to fall into the stereotypical category of those whom feel a leader needs to know everything about everything and if they don’t know, they’re an idiot (my words not his). I’m hoping I’m wrong about that assumption, but that’s what I gathered from his post on HotAir. In defense of Mr. Cain, I agree with Mr. Cain. Unfortunately, our population has this notion that our leaders are suppose to be the ‘know all, be all’. We, as a population, expect our politicians/leaders to know everything there is to know about foreign policy, economics, history, etc. I don’t want someone who has an answer for everything, or seems to make it seem as though he knows everything, because then we have and arrogant know it all narcissist. Those types of people seem to ruin everything. Should I point to exibit A: Mr. Obama?
When I was made aware that Herman said he didn’t have to know anything, I was reminded of a story that I read about Henry Ford. The story goes as follows:
In 1919, two industrial giants, Henry Ford and Colonel McCormick of the Chicago Tribune, met in a dramatic libel case when the paper had called Ford an “ignorant idealist.” The automaker was okay with being called an idealist, but he had a problem with the assertion he was ignorant due to his lack of schooling.
The attorneys for the paper pleaded justification, and placed Ford on the witness stand, for the purpose of proving to the jury that he was ignorant. Ford was plied with such questions as the following: “Who was Benedict Arnold?” and “How many soldiers did the British sent over to America to put down the Rebellion of 1776?” In answer to the last question, Ford replied, “I do not know the exact number of soldiers the British sent over, but I have heard that it was a considerably larger number than ever went back.”
In reply to another particularly offensive question, he leaned over, pointed his finger at the lawyer who had asked the question and said, “If I should really want to answer the foolish question you have just asked, or any of the other questions you have been asking me, let me remind you that I have a row of electric push-buttons on my desk, and by pushing the right button, I can summon to my aid men who can answer any question I desire to ask. Why should I clutter up my mind with general knowledge for the purpose of being able to answer questions, when I have men around me who can supply any knowledge I require?”
Amen Mr. Ford! If business leaders never have to know everything, but how to lead and run a functioning organization, what makes a President so different? The American people are the share holders and we gather every 4 yrs to pic our choice of who should run this enterprise we call government to look out for our best interest. We need not someone who knows everything, but who can surround themselves with those who know all the answers he seeks that way his mind isn’t so cluttered, he can actually think and make the best decisions. And if we don’t like it… we can fire him. But that’s also assuming the media does their job and actually reports the performance of our nations CEO.
Some also have a hard time figuring out if the man is being serious or if he’s joking. Again, I agree with Mr. Cain when he say’s “America needs to get a sense of humor!”
Cain up by 15 in Iowa despite harassment accusations
By · CommentsLast week the Des Moines Register did some asking around in the middle of the “scandal” surrounding the GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain. What did they find? Iowa caucus-goers didn’t care about vague allegations the national media has made its top priority. We live in a society where sexual harassment allegations run rampant in our society. It’s probably one of the highest “get rich quick schemes” many will play. Some allegations are true and unfortunate and should be dealt with accordingly if found true, but personally, I knew some individuals in my working years in corporate America that made a habit of these allegations and would move from company to company, taking the settlements and going to another company. I have friends who were accused and it tore them apart those kinds of charges were brought to them because it’s just not in their character… they were a victim of frivolous charges. Seems as though folks in Iowa feel the same way. Yesterday, RCP reported that a more scientific survey from Insider Advantage showing:
Despite being embroiled in controversy last week, Herman Cain leads the Republican presidential field by 15 percentage points in Iowa, according to a new poll taken four days after news broke that the Atlanta businessman had been accused of sexually harassing women while head of the National Restaurant Association in the late 1990s.
Cain attracts 30 percent support from Iowa GOP caucus-goers, according to the Insider Advantage poll. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney places a distant second with 15 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich rounds out the top three with 12 percent. The remaining candidates poll in the single digits: Texas Rep. Ron Paul garners 9 percent, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann — who won the straw poll in Ames in August — receives 8 percent, Texas Gov. Rick Perry earns 6 percent, and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman has 2 percent.
Despite the accusations, 54% of Republicans say that this issue doesn’t make a difference to them.
With the new allegations of Sharon Bialek, the first woman to come forward, it’s plausible to assume this won’t hold much merit either. Reviewing this video of the conference hosted earlier today, there is too many weak points. Why didn’t this woman come forward 14yrs ago considering the allegations are of sexual assault rather than sexual harassment. It’s just too fishy to me. Personally, I think Mr. Cain should file various law suits against all media who are promoting this garbage. Like I’ve said… these, to me, seem like trying to attack someone’s character without much to go on and they’ll continue to do that until someone stands up and holds these left wing media outlets accountable. If you give your pearls to the pigs, they’ll trample on them. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile. Don’t give them jack. Don’t abide by the agenda they’re trying to set. They want 4 more years of Obama and they’ll do ANYTHING to make it happen.
Peter Schiff vs OWS
By · CommentsPeter Schiff at Occupy Wall Street in NY’s Zuccotti Park brought some spotlight to the discussion of whether OWS is pro-capitalist or pro-socialist. And it’s my opinion, they still don’t know what they’re talking about and truly don’t understand their own points. Peter has a clear and consistent point of view, but the protesters, I can’t figured out if they’re pro-capitalist or pro-socialist. Many claim to be pro-capitalist, but many of the arguments and words they use contradict a pro-capitalist point of view.
Exhibit A:
For reason.com’s coverage of the Occupy Wall Street protest click here.
Now, I’m not a huge Schiff fan, but he makes some great points in this video. I personally think Peter has a terrible accountant if he’s a business owner and pay’s 50% in taxes. Are taxes too high? Hell yes! Do we need a whole new tax code? Absolutely, but that’s a whole other post. Is there corruption on wall street? Yes. Does Washington D.C. create the environment that rewards bad behavior in the private sector? Yes. Is it wall streets fault? They contributed… But they didn’t write the laws either.
Basically, what I’m trying to get out, is maybe those OWS folks need to go to the library and read some personal development books on success. Maybe read some books on the Fed and our monetary system. Maybe read a bit of history. Because, they surely have no idea what they’re talking about. They may sound smart to someone without a mind of their own. But that’s what we get from public education, right? Robots.
New Rick Perry Ad: Romney is a little bit of a liar
By · CommentsWhat ever happened to those attack ads in politics that make the candidate look desperate, ridiculous, and non-substantive? Well, look no further for Gov. Rick Perry saves the day! Check this out!
Now, I’m going to be completely honest: I like Rick Perry. I think he’s a cool guy! HOWEVER, I also think he’s making himself look silly, desperate, unprepared, a copy-cat, mis-focused and more. That’s not a shot at him as a person, I simply feel, he’s been showing himself very non-presidential as well as he comes across as having lack of vision. In this country, those who have the greatest positive impacts on our society are those who have vision. For example, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ford, John F. Kennedy, Walt Disney, etc…. I’m sure you get the point.
Rick Perry is more of a caboose to the Republican candidates than a leader. Now, Romney, in my opinion, has his leadership qualities and I think he would be a decent president (anyone running for the Republican ticket would be better than what we have now… hands down!) but giving Rick Perry the attention he’s giving him is only hurting himself. Look at them while they’re on stage… it’s two guys fighting for second place, like second place means something. Sorry fella’s, Mr. Herman Cain is out in the lead and while you two are bickering like a couple school girls who has the biggest and best list of Facebook friends, Herman Cain is taking them away while you’re not looking.
Now, I’m not pro-illegal immigration, but the fact of the matter is, this day in age, it’s tuff to find any sort of contractor who doesn’t have a crew with some illegal’s mixed in the group. It’s one of the biggest problems in America. I’ll also be real honest – most american construction workers are lazy. They care more about money, benefits, and how much time they can waste while making the most money. We have an HUGE entitlement problem in this country and I’ve worked side by side with illegal immigrants in the past. Good group of people and hard workers. I don’t agree with how they arrived in this country, but as an average citizen, what am I to do when ICE, or any government official isn’t going to do anything about it… just do my job, do what I have to do for me, to feed myself and take care of my family. When I worked in the construction industry as a sales rep, I would have customers ask me if I had illegal immigrants doing the work. Before I could answer, most customers said they didn’t have a problem (some did have a problem) because they did a damn good job in a short period of time. Now I couldn’t say for sure if my crews were legal or illegal because the guys that did my jobs for me spoke English, I never asked them for their citizenship. It wasn’t a priority for me at the time, I was looking for a sale.
In conclusion of this video, I think bringing up Romney’s lawn care guys is petty and shows me that he’s desperate and out of focus. I still like the guy, I just would never vote for him at this point. If Gov. Perry really wishes to lead this country, he needs to become a visionary and not a follower as well as showing himself as a typical politician to say or do anything for a vote. Those are my thoughts and my thoughts alone.
EPA regulations shutting down power plants
By · Comments“So if somebody wants to build a coal-fired plant they can.
It’s just that it will bankrupt them…” – Barack Obama speaking to San Francisco Chronicle, January 2008
At a time when America needs Jobs and a break from rising costs,
who is it to prevent much of that from happening? None other than
our very own EPA. Lovely organization that started out as a
great idea, but after many years, has become a thorn in the side
of our economy with ridiculous regulations.
I'm not saying that regulation is a bad thing, as a matter of fact,
it's a good thing. However, there comes a point where it's just too
much... like too much government in our schools and too much government
on Wall Street suffocating these organizations ability to breath. It's
been a few weeks since we learned of some power plants that will face
shut down in Indiana and Kentucky. Unfortunately, there are more
to come.
According to the Institute for Energy and Research:
Currently, EPA is leading the Obama administration’s assaulton coal with a number of new regulations. Two of the mostimportant are the “transport rule” and the“toxics rule” (Utility MACT). Combined, these regulations willsystematically reduce access to affordable and reliable energy.
According to our report: EPA Regulations Will Close At Least 28 GW of Generating Capacity EPA modeling and power-plant operator announcements show that EPAregulations will close at least 28 gigawatts (GW) of Americangenerating capacity, the equivalent of closing every power plantin the state of North Carolina or Indiana. Also, 28 GW is 8.9 percentof our total coal generating capacity. Current Retirements Almost Twice As High As EPA Predicted EPA’s power plant-level modeling projected that Agency regulationswould close 14.5 GW of generating capacity. That number rises to28 GW when including additional announced retirements related toEPA rules, almost twice the amount EPA projected. Moreover, thisnumber will grow as plant operators continue to release their EPAcompliance plans.

click the link to the IER above.
In closing, at a time when we need our economy to have a boost, this
is only going to create more unemployed as well as raise energy costs.
Do I really need to say anymore? If you don't get the point that
this administration is the most damaging in our country's history,
you probably need to go to your local library read a bit of history,
take a few business courses, and turn off the TV or XBox. Because
your country needs you informed.
“The ideal tyranny is that which is ignorantly self-administeredby its victims. The most perfect slaves are, therefore, thosewhich blissfully and unawaredly enslave themselves.”– Dresden James
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer led the way and now Georgia becomes the first follower. Do you know how movements start and what’s instore for the Obama administration? Observe the following video to see how trends start.
So you can see how movements start. It’s a silly video, however, it’s powerfully true.
The law authorizes police in Georgia to investigate the immigration status of criminal suspects they think may be in the country illegally.
It also makes transporting and harboring illegal immigrants a crime and requires many private employers to check the immigration status of newly hired workers on a federal database called E-Verify.
Republican Governor Nathan Deal said the measure, passed by Georgia’s Republican-controlled legislature, will take a burden off schools, hospitals and prisons by reducing the number of illegal immigrants in the state.
“This legislation is a responsible step forward in the absence of federal action,” Deal said during a signing ceremony.
I beg to differ with Mr. Juan Williams; the Tea Party is still alive and well. The Tea Party is an invisible Giant and it’s tuff to estimate how large, but the only thing we can tell of their influence is what’s resulting from their power… i.e. the GA immigration bill would be a good example.
Trump Not taken seriously by liberal media
By · CommentsOver the course of the last few months, Donald Trump has expressed his interest in a candidacy for president. Ever since then, boy has he been attacked from his intellect, to his other possible motives (i.e. ratings), to his birth certificate questions, to his bankruptcy’s, etc.
I’m curious to know if they’re trying to piss off Trump or their completely ignorant because they are those smart people that know so much that just is not so. Think of where these views are coming from too. These are individuals that have not experienced or seen what he has seen or have had the success that he has achieved in the business world.
I would agree that Trump doesn’t have the political experience these folks would like to see in a Presidential Candidate, however, he has more experience dealing with politicians than all these folks combined. The glory of Trump is he’s never had to appeal or lie to the public for a vote.
It may sound like I’m endorsing Mr. Trump for Prez, but in the greater scheme of things this is not an endorsement but in dealing with business myself, I truly think they need to reconsider their comments because the skills he has indeed gained would be of good use in repairing our country, in my opinion. I actually do feel his is serious because he really has nothing to gain running for president and as a matter of fact, he would lose more as President than what he has now… it would be a step down from where he is ironically enough.
The criticism these people bring up only shows how little they actually know. Donald Trump has created more jobs than all of these people combined by the thousands. Donald Trump has more experience dealing with politicians from other countries, tax laws, unions, manufacturers, business owners, Wall-Street, China, India, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, other middle east countries and Asian countries and European countries than all the folks at standing in this video combined. He has more international experience than Hillary Clinton.
In closing, much of their criticism is empty and ignorant. But, it’s inevitable, the media is going to be harder on him because if you’ve watched any of his interviews with other news outlets, boy do they seem to hate to interview him because they can’t pin him, debate him, or make him look foolish since he controls those entire conversations. I really think he makes them skiddish face to face… just watch the videos, their body language says it all. But moral of the story… I think they need to take him a little more seriously or it’ll probably come back to bite them if he does announce a run for President.
